GBC Motorsports Strikes Silver in Silver State 300 - 05/08/2014

Anaheim, Calif. - May 8, 2014 - GBC Motorsports racers took on the Best in the Desert Silver State 300 and struck silver as the Holz Racing team found the podium with a 2nd place finish.

More than 30 UTVs lined up for the start of the BITD Canidae Tap It Silver State 300, but few could predict the challenges that lay beyond the starting line. As the racers erupted off the line in thirty second intervals it quickly became apparent that thick dust and a lack of wind would make visibility a major factor in this race.

While the course was not as rough as the Mint 400 course, 9 of the 34 UTVS that started failed to make it to the finish line. Though they ran most of the race in 4th or 5th position, the Holz Racing Team managed to push their GBC Mongrel equipped #1934 Polaris RZR to a time corrected 2nd place finish. Holz Racing sits in 2nd place in the BITD Pro UTV points race after a string of solid races.

UTV racing newcomer Johnny Angal also opted to use the Mongrel in this extremely silty course. Angal piloted his #1921 UTV Inc. Polaris RZR to an impressive 7th place finish.

Dan Fisher and Mike Lansky also put GBC tires to the test in the Silver State 300 and came through the other side. Fisher and company notched a 12th place finish in the #1910 Lonestar Racing Polaris RZR, while Lansky and crew finished 21st in the Avid Racing Can-Am Maverick.

Cody Mitchell was the lone GBC Motorsports representative on the ATV side of things. Mitchell pushed his GBC Motorsports equipped machine to an impressive 3rd place finish in the Quad Pro class.

The Best in the Desert takes a summer break and returns August 14-16 for the “Vegas to Reno” point-to-point race.

GBC Motorsports Returns as Title Sponsor of 2014 Heartland Challenge - 05/02/2014

Anaheim, Calif. - May 1, 2014 - GBC Motorsports will return as the title sponsor of the GBC Motorsports Heartland Challenge, an ATV and UTV endurance race held annually in Carlisle, Iowa. The 7th Annual Heartland Challenge is slated for August 15-17.

The GBC Motorsports Heartland Challenge draws competitors and spectators alike from across the country to compete for cash payouts and a year’s worth of bragging rights. In 2013 more than 120 teams from 21 different states descended on Carlisle, Iowa for the 4-hour UTV Challenge, 3-hour Youth ATV Challenge and the 10-hour Adult ATV Challenge.

Prior to last year’s gathering, race organizers Andy and Tracy Kyner decided to shake things up a bit. In lieu of the traditional Pro class atop the 10-hour Challenge, a new Series Challenge class would pit representatives of race series from across the country in one of the nation’s most intense endurance races.

Some of the notable results from 2013 include Team Cabana Motorsports out of Des Moines, IA winning the Open UTV class as well as top honors overall in the UTV Challenge. Team K&K Racing out of Carlisle, IA bested the 90cc Production class as well as the Youth ATV Challenge. In the new Series Challenge, Team IXCR represented the Indiana Cross Country Racing series well, winning the inaugural class race. Kevin Trantham was victorious in the Pro 4x4 Ironman class, while Thee Woodhead Mafia out of Westunion Marietta, WV topped the AA class on their way to the overall ATV Challenge victory.

The 2014 GBC Motorsports Heartland Challenge promises to be another must for ATV and UTV racers and fans alike, so mark your calendars for August 15-17 and keep an eye out for information on early-bird registration. More information to come in the next few weeks.
